Supporting all forms of research

At the Inserm Foundation, our priority is to prepare the future of healthcare. With this in mind, we are exploring new horizons with the aim of supporting all forms of research, across all disciplines, while listening to the concerns of our partners, donors and sponsors. Together, we can meet the major challenges facing healthcare.

Mission 1

Strengthening research capacity through private funding

Research is essential if we are to respond effectively to future healthcare challenges, taking into account societal, biological and medical dimensions.

In concrete terms, we are able to connect healthcare, major societal challenges and medical research.

We have the capacity to :

  • bring together researchers from a wide range of disciplines, in public health, medical research and basic research,
  • to be part of the existing research dynamic,
  • get them to work together to increase their impact in the face of new social challenges.

Mission 2

Acting as a privileged contact for sponsors and donors

The Inserm Foundation intends to forge a close relationship with donors and sponsors, enabling it to take better account of their expectations and their own challenges in selecting appropriate projects. The Foundation is also committed to transparency in the use of funds raised, and undertakes to provide personalized reporting on the financial management of donations and the progress of projects supported.

In concrete terms, we’re here to listen to you and propose projects that are of real interest to you.

  • We want to open the doors of Inserm and its hundreds of laboratories to you.

  • We cooperate with Inserm’s nine thematic institutes to bring out other projects that are mature enough and just as innovative to be funded. No other health research organization offers such a wealth of expertise to meet the challenges of medical research in the service of society!

Mission 3

Contributing to the debate on health

Beyond bio-medical research, health is linked to issues of urban planning, housing, food, the fight against pollution and commitment to combating scientific misinformation. The Inserm Foundation therefore aims to act as a think-tank on a number of issues.

In concrete terms, we’re going to encourage and mobilize the thinking of various players in society, such as urban planners, climatologists, sociologists and epidemiologists.

  • At the same time, we’re going to take action against health misinformation, which can leave each and every one of us vulnerable to preventable diseases, and reduce the capacity for joint action in public health.
  • We pride ourselves on providing reliable, verified information, backed up by authoritative expert discourse.

Testimonial

“Donations collected by the Inserm Foundation help to attract the best talent and support existing teams in their research to move to the next level. They enable us to take a step back from scientific steering, to be more in tune with the expectations of the general public”.
